Meet Our Amazing Care Team at Lacombe Veterinary Hospital!
Billie Zeller, DVM
Dr. Zeller grew up in Metairie, Louisiana where her love of large animals shined through the city landscape by visiting a local neighborhood petting zoo daily to interact with the horses and goats. She studied animal sciences at Louisiana Tech University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in 2002. She then attended Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2007. After graduation, Dr. Zeller spent 3 years as an equine veterinarian in Florida. The charm of Louisiana called her back where she then began practicing at a high volume mixed animal practice in Central Louisiana. She then accepted an opportunity to move back home to south Louisiana in 2013 and has practiced mixed animal medicine and emergency medicine since. Dr. Zeller loves every aspect of veterinary medicine and enjoys not only helping the animals but also their human caregivers. In her spare time, she enjoys taking care of her menagerie of animals including horses, ducks, dogs, cats, chickens, peacocks, turkeys, pigs, goats, turtles and tortoises. She also enjoys exercise and spending time with her family, friends, and DJ.

She was born and raised in Lacombe and has been here 38 years. Her family’s roots are very deep in this small town, we’ve been here well over a century. She attended school at St. Margaret Mary in Slidell and graduated from Fontainebleau High in Mandeville. She earned my Associates of Mathematics in Accounting and a Certificate of Knowledge in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech. She studied Radiology for 3 years at Delgado in New Orleans. She earned a degree in Welding and certifications in NCCER and OSHA at Baton Rouge Community College. She loves animals and has had a passion for animal care since she was a little girl. She used to drive my parents crazy because she would bring home ALL the strays. She has had 22 dogs and 8 cats in her life. She started working at Lacombe Veterinary Hospital 13 months ago and absolutely loves the people she works alongside. She is a single mother of two children, four dogs and a cat.
She recently retired after 21 years as the Facilities Manager for a Church & School in New Orleans and wanted to be closer to home in Mandeville allowing more time for my family and her 4 legged crew. She met Dr. Zeller when looking for a Veterinarian for her foster dogs. She loved her knowledge and compassion for animals and was not ready to fully retire. She always wanted to work with animals, so when she learned of an opening at her clinic I quickly applied. She has since been enjoying the camaraderie of her coworkers along with learning and working with animals at Lacombe Veterinary Hospital.
